If you are looking for a fall or holiday candy bar that is homemade, look no further!  These pecan bars are absolutely delicious.  It's hard to resist caramel, chocolate, and pecans.  Also, the crust is a delicious shortbread that compliments the other flavors perfectly!  I got this wonderful recipe from the 2000 issue of Land O Lakes: Top 50

I've made these bars multiple times, and I can say with certainty that with a few simple ingredients you will have a mouthwatering treat.  If you make these bars for friends and family, be prepared to get recipe requests.  With Christmas soon to be upon us and holiday baking soon to begin, make sure to have these yummy bars on the baking list.  They most definitely will delight!

Bon Appetit!

Tips:

Pecans are the stars of this cookie bar, but by all means, have fun and try a different nut or combination of nuts.

Preparation time is 30 minutes.  Baking time is 18 to 22 minutes.

I love these cookies!  They are soft and sweet.  When the autumn weather begins to have that chill in the air, these cookies are a must on my baking list!  With real maple syrup and a dash of maple extract, they have a wonderful autumn taste.  The spices enhance the flavor and add to how yummy they are.  If you are looking for a new cookie recipe for your fall baking, I highly recommend these spiced maple cookies.  My family and friends absolutely love them!  I'm sure yours will too.

Bon Appetit!

Tips:

With most cookie recipes, I like to add the flour to the creamed butter mixture in two to three batches at a time to ensure all the ingredients are mixed well.

As a way for the cookies to have a nice look to them, refrigerate the cookie dough for an hour before baking.  This is an optional step.  The cookies can be baked right away, but I prefer the way they look when I've refrigerated the cookie dough.

Always keep a close watch on your cookies while baking!...

This is a delicious and lovely fall cake that features pears.  Upside-down cakes are wonderful, because they are very easy to make and at the same time look like they were made by a master chef.  One of the ingredients that sets this cake apart is the addition of cardamom.  If you have never used cardamom in a recipe before, I encourage you to give this recipe a chance as the cardamom in it is subtle but really enhances the flavor of the cake.  If you love pears and the taste of fall spices, give this yummy pear upside-down cake a try!

These wonderful cookies are a perfect holiday treat!  They are sweet with a subtle ginger flavor.  The spices add to the flavor and compliment the ginger in the cookies.  The dark brown sugar and molasses in these little gems add depth and richness to the taste.  I found this recipe in People magazine from the kitchen of Dominique Ansel, a pastry chef in New York City.  If you are looking for a light and sweet flavored ginger cookie this autumn, I highly recommend this recipe!

Bon Appetit

Tips:

If you prefer a stronger ginger flavor, try adding 3 teaspoons of finely grated fresh ginger.

These cookies are a soft cookie...not crisp.

They freeze great!  I put the baked, completely cooked cookies in gallon size freezer bags.  They should be good up to a month.

Preparation time is 20 minutes.  Total time is 40 minutes.

Autumn is here, and that means pumpkin!  These muffins are a real treat with your morning coffee.  They are loaded with fresh apples and flavored with pumpkin spice.  They also have a wonderful streusel topping that gives an added sweetness to these muffins.  This is a recipe that has been around in my collection for many years, so I have baked these muffins many times.  These pumpkin apple streusel muffins are a delight to eat, and I hope you and your family will enjoy!

When baking (unless otherwise noted) it's always good to rotate your baked goods halfway though the baking time.

I have been making this pie for over 25 years.  I believe that I clipped this recipe from a magazine in the late 80s.  I don't remember which magazine now.  I wrote down the history of this classic apple pie, because I thought it was really interesting and special.

"This old-fashioned apple-pie recipe won the 1987 Grand Prize in Salem Cross Inn's Annual Beehive Oven bake-off.  Creators Lillie Bothwell (102 years old) and Louise Waid (106 years old), both residents of the Quaboag Nursing Home, credit their success to years of experience.  They placed in the year before and decided not to enter in 1988 in order to give the younger folks a chance."

I've tweaked this recipe a little bit over the years to my tastes and every time that I serve it to people they tell me it is the best apple pie they ever had.  I hope you enjoy this pie as much as my family has over the years, and I hope that it becomes a centerpiece in your baking as much as it has in mine.

This is a Weicht family recipe that has been passed down for several generations.  Whenever our extended family is gathered together, these brownies are always brought by someone.  They often disappear quick too.  These marshmallow brownies are perfect for welcoming September (and with September - Autumn), because they have butterscotch, chocolate, pecans, and marshmallows in them.  The ingredients (particularly the butterscotch and the pecans) scream Autumn to me.  Whether it's a family get together, an Autumn picnic, or a sweet craving, these disappearing marshmallow brownies are the perfect dessert for the event!
